Book Review - Innocent Lies and Pretty Little Lies

Note: I was given a copy of each of these books in exchange for an honest review.

Innocent Lies Summary (from Amazon): **WARNING: This is NOT a sweet and sappy romance. It's dark, twisted, and not for the faint of heart. If you prefer HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY this is NOT the book for you. Recommended for ages 17+ due to language and sexual situations.**

Dylan’s life was a living Hell, but she discovered what Hell really was.

Dylan was minding her own business when Ethan sat down at her table. All she wanted was peace from her past. He offered her the protection and calm she had never known. That was until she learned how much of that past he was a part of.

If life had taught Dylan Summers anything it was that not everyone gets a happily ever after.

Pretty Little Lies Summary (from Amazon) : Dylan Summers came into Ethan Asher’s life blazing brighter than any star. He was drawn to her as he’d never been to anything or anyone before. But no matter how much he loved her, the torment of their past tore them apart.

Dylan Summers spent her whole life trying to hold on to the last nerve of her sanity. Now she found herself alone and searching for a man that seem to only be a dream. Will finding him finally heal her or finish destroying her?

Review: 4 out of 5 Stars  When I was sent these books, the email came with one statement: may you learn to never judge a person by their actions. I wasn't really sure why this statement was in the email, but decided it had something to do with the books. Wow - did it!  The first book was a bit of an emotional roller coaster as you are introduced to the characters and thier purposes in the storyline. You also learn of the background of the characters and how far back their story truely goes. With a few twists and turns I wasn't expecting, it was an enjoyment to read. The best part was the second book. Although I kept wanting to scream at the book for it to go "my way" or for certain things to happen the way I wanted them to happen, it all worked out just the way the author intended - and the way the characters needed it to happen.

It was refreshing to read a book where not everything works out in the end and not everyone gets a happy ending. That isn't true to life and isn't what we always need to hear. With that being said, you have to have an open mind on many things before reading this book. You can't go into it with set opinions and expect the book to go the way you want. I actually changed a few of my thoughts along the way because of the second book. The second book was better written than the first, as you can tell the author is honing their craft. I look forward to more stories from this author, and more twists that keep the reader thinking and not just mindless reading. Well done!!
